30th Annual Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally Presented by Red River Chamber of Commerce. This year marks the 30th annual celebration of the hottest motorcycle rally in northern New Mexico. Red River is one of the most popular tourist destinations due to its scenic location and great climate. Centrally located in the beautiful north central mountains of New Mexico, Red River is the closest resort area to Texas and Oklahoma, as well as a short drive from Southern Colorado. At 8,750 feet above sea level, Red River is perched high in the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range and surrounded by 1.5 million acres of the Carson National Forest. You can also participate in The 2nd Annual Steve Stucker's "RALLY in the VALLEY" to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation Sponsored in part by Auslander Condominiums. Steve Stucker's RALLY in the VALLEY DATE TBA in Red River from TIME TBA. Steve will lead the RALLY in the VALLEY on a Guided Tour of some of our states most beautiful scenery, including Bobcat Pass, Cimarron CanyonState Park, Eagle Nest Lake, & the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire (where you'll have time to pay your respects & look around). You'll get Lunch LOCATION TBA, RAFFLES AND PRIZES WILL BE AVAILABLE...& a Limited Edition T-Shirt commemorating the ride. All proceeds benefit the MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION of New Mexico. MAW fulfills the fondest Dreams for kids with Life Threatening Conditions, and provides about 100 Wishes per Year in NM. Early registration is just a $25 tax deductible donation to Make A Wish. Monday begins with CMA non-denominational services followed with a ride up to Angel Fire for the parade and ceremonies at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park in Angel Fire. Many rallies claim to have the most beautiful scenic rides. There is no way to really compare one area of our beautiful country to another, but Red River is definitely one of the top picks for the most scenic riding at a rally. 1st Annual Bikers & Blues Bike Show Presented by Main Street Project. Silver City Main Street Project is in the process of organizing a People’s Choice Bike Show, Friday May 25, 3:00pm - 9:00pm, in downtown Silver City on Bullard Street and Yankie. Here are some of the things we are planning: People’s Choice Bike Show. 1st Prize: $500 cash, 2nd Prize: $200 gift certificate and gift bag from Barnett’s Harley-Davidson of Las Cruces, 3rd Prize: gift basket of donated local merchandise. Street dance featuring Brandon Perrault & Friends, 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Albuquerque DJ Curtis Pink will be playing music from 3:00pm – 6:00pm. Barnett’s Harley Davidson of Las Cruces will bring their event trailer & motorcycles. “Shade Tree Customs” of Albuquerque will bring custom bikes and t-shirts for sale. The Roller Derby Girls are helping with a raffle of local merchant donations. The Gila regional forest service will be out with Smokey Bear doing community outreach. This event will be just before the Blues Festival kick-off at the Buffalo and is being planned cooperatively with the Mimbres Region Arts Council. The Blues Festival attracts motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the Southwest. By welcoming them to our community we can encourage them to help support our economy and at the same time have a lot of fun.. Silver City Main Street Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging a vibrant historic downtown Silver City which is recognized as the heart of our diverse community. Albuquerque Ride for Kids Presented by Ride for Kids. Benefits Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Join hundreds of other motorcyclists for a scenic ride through the New Mexico countryside. You’ll have a great time while raising funds for the PBTF's medical research and family support programs! Riders on all makes and models are welcome. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 9:45 a.m. The police-escorted (NEW ROUTE) ride starts at 10 a.m. sharp, rain or shine! The ride will loop back to the start point. After a light lunch, participants will enjoy a Celebration of Life program that features interviews with young brain tumor survivors—the Ride for Kids® "stars" of the day. Award presentations to top fundraisers, clubs, and dealers will follow. The minimum donation to ride is $35, but the more money you raise, the more premiums you earn.
